Dozens of countries and organizations pledged Friday to steer more than $8 billion into research and development projects aimed at reducing the impact of farming on the planet.

The funds announced at the COP27 climate summit in Egypt effectively double investments committed since the Agriculture Innovation Mission for Climate was unveiled a year ago and will help support 22 additional projects.
